Even the mileage favors the No. 2 Ducks, who are squaring off the Cougars at CenturyLink Field in the Seattle game.
Eugene to Seattle = 283 miles.
Pullman to Seattle = 287 miles.
Obviously, the Ducks have a few more advantages than just the mileage. Like one of the nation?s most exciting offensive players in De'Anthony Thomas, a youthful but efficient quarterback in Marcus Mariota and a defense that is playing as well as any in the Pac-12.
Thomas is tied for the FBS lead with eight all-purpose plays of 30 yards or more. Which is a technical way of saying he?s super-duper explosive.
Washington State, meanwhile, is trying to bounce back from a loss last week to Colorado. This is the first time in Mike Leach?s career he?s faced Oregon.
Connor Halliday is again expected to start at quarterback for the Cougars. He?s appeared in seven games in his career for Washington State and has 17 touchdowns. That?s the most by any quarterback in school history during his first seven games.
It?s been a weird week of football at CenturyLink Field. Thursday night, Washington upset No. 8 Stanford; Monday night we saw the simultaneous-possession call at the end of the Seahawks-Packers game. Worth noting that the last time Washington State beat a ranked team, it was in 2006, when it beat No. 16 Oregon in Pullman.

Why did you marry me?
Marriage is meant to be a life-long commitment but surprisingly enough, some who decide to take this journey don?t even know why they?re doing it. Deciding to say ?I do? should be based on more than just the idea of being in love. It shouldn?t be a last resort because you?re over the age of 35, and it shouldn?t take place if both parties don?t equally desire it.
Hollywood marriages these days seem to be a sham with couples barely making it two years at the max and the general population is not far behind the trend. ?Nowadays, divorce appears to be a part of the marriage deal, almost like people expect you to have more than one.
One of the main reasons marriages or relationships fail is because the individuals don?t know their partners. This could have resulted from a number of scenarios. One, a couple could be together because they felt forced to do so through an unexpected pregnancy or some other life circumstance. They rushed to the alter via peer pressure or tradition, without really getting to know the person they were committing to. Two, pure physical attraction without any emotional or spiritual connection. This could possibly be one of the worst reasons to marry an individual because the union is solely based on a basic surface connection. ?Or three, the last resort, emergency back- up plan marriages. These people have probably surpassed the age that they thought they would get married and are now just desperate to get it over and done with. They want families and security, so they just go along with the first opportunity presented.
However, in order for a marriage or any relationship to function properly, the individuals have to know why they?re in it in the first place. Are they the person you trust the most? Can the two of you be goofy in public together? Ask your partner, why did you marry me or why do you want to marry me? It should be discussed fairly early in the relationship to avoid some of the frequent issues that come attached to a wedding ring.

ROME (Reuters) - Two of Italy's biggest unions marched through Rome on Friday to protest against Prime Minister Mario Monti's cuts in public spending as opposition grows to austerity policies aimed at steering the country out of its economic crisis.
The strike followed clashes between anti-austerity protesters and police in Madrid and Athens this week and coincided with labor unrest at the ILVA steel plant in southern Italy.
"We are here to protest against Monti's politics, because up until now he has just made the weakest pay," said Pio Zappaterreno as he rallied with fellow members of CGIL, Italy's largest union, in the city center.
Monti's coalition passed spending cuts in August that included a modest downsizing of the public sector, where wages have already been frozen for more than two years, and cuts to state healthcare funding.
University professors, public administration employees and health workers in the CGIL and UIL unions were to stop work in support of the march to the Colosseum. Garbage collectors were also joining the work stoppage.
"At the moment I just can't see a future that gives us any hope, particularly for the youth," former soldier Emilio Amiraglia said at the march.
The spending cuts followed unpopular austerity reforms and an overhaul of hiring-and-firing rules that drew stiff opposition and protests from labor unions earlier this year.
"Starve the beast, weaken it, make it inefficient, undermine its potential, interrupt its mission - these are the principles that are behind the government's public administration policy," CGIL's leaders wrote in a letter explaining the walkout.
To head off a Greek-style debt disaster, Monti raised taxes and cut pensions when he took over from Silvio Berlusconi in November, subjecting Italians to an "unprecedented amount of sacrifices," he said in an interview on CNN this week.
Austerity measures have hurt household spending and deepened Italy's recession. Italian unemployment rose to 10.7 percent in July, the highest since 2004.
Since August, anger over austerity and job losses has led to a growing number of industrial disputes, including at the ILVA steel mill in Taranto and at an aluminium smelter in Sardinia.
Although Monti is the most popular political figure in Italy, his comments on Thursday that he would be willing to serve again if no clear leader emerged from elections next spring prompted a chorus of complaints from opposition parties.

(Reuters) - A long-stalled plan to unblock a major transport bottleneck into New York City "may end up in the grave yard" unless space is reserved now for new train tunnels under the Hudson River, Senator Charles Schumer said Friday.
The so-called Gateway project, which would cost as much as $13.5 billion, would increase rail capacity between Newark, New Jersey's Pennsylvania Station and Manhattan's Pennsylvania Station.
Federally run Amtrak and New Jersey Transit share two 100-year-old tunnels under the Hudson River. Delays are common because of high over-use.
Amtrak's engineers say the only place to bring the new tunnels into Manhattan is under the Hudson Yards site in West Midtown, according to Schumer, a Democrat. He spoke at a breakfast sponsored by the New York Building Congress, a trade group.
A plan by developer Related Companies for the Hudson Yards site foresees construction of a residential, shopping and office complex over the site's active rail yards. Construction is to start by the end of this year.
"We will need contracts, design plans and construction dollars to flow over the next six to 12 months to make this a reality," Schumer said of the rail project. He wants the digging of the tunnels to start before the end of 2013.
A Related spokeswoman said: "We have been working intensively with Amtrak and the Long Island Rail Road," declining further comment.
The Long Island Rail Road shares Manhattan's Pennsylvania Station with Amtrak and New Jersey Transit.
Schumer pledged to work with Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, a Democrat, who also backs the new tunnels, to raise $120 million of federal funds for the project.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a Republican, in 2010 killed a previous multi-billion-dollar plan to relieve congestion by digging another tunnel under the Hudson River, saying his state risked getting stuck with huge cost overruns.
His decision outraged transit advocates and his cost estimates were called into question by the federal General Accountability Office.
"As we've said ever since making that decision, we recognize the need for added rail capacity and will continue to work with all benefiting jurisdictions on an equitable - I repeat, equitable - solution," a Christie spokesman said.
Schumer said the Gateway project was superior to extending New York City's No. 7 subway from West Midtown into New Jersey, partly because the state authority that runs the city's subway and buses could not afford the new link.

Researchers find risk markers for erectile dysfunction following radiation in prostate cancer
Thursday, September 27, 2012In the first study of its kind, a research team led by Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University discovered 12 genetic markers associated with the development of erectile dysfunction (ED) in prostate cancer patients who were treated with radiation. The findings, published in the International Journal of Radiation Oncology? Biology? Physics, are an important step towards helping clinicians determine the best course of treatment for prostate cancer patients and may lead to the development of therapies that alleviate side effects.
The main treatments for prostate cancer ? surgery, brachytherapy (seed implants) and external beam radiation therapy ? are all very effective at curing prostate cancer. Unfortunately, each treatment places patients at risk for ED. According to the National Cancer Institute, the prevalence of erectile dysfunction following external beam radiation for prostate cancer ranges from 65 percent to 85 percent. The Prostate Cancer Foundation estimates prevalence of ED following seed therapy at 25 to 50 percent. Many men will be able to regain their potency with time and treatments, but doctors would like to identify which men may be more likely to develop this side effect.
In the first large scale Genome-Wide Association Study to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with susceptibility for the development of erectile dysfunction following radiotherapy for prostate cancer, researchers conducted a two-part study, first, to discover the candidate genetic markers of side effect risk, and second, to confirm which of those markers are replicated in a second group of patients. In the first group of prostate cancer patients, which included 132 men who developed erectile dysfunction after radiotherapy and 103 men similarly treated who did not develop erectile dysfunction, they found a set of genetic markers associated with erectile dysfunction. In the second part of the study, which examined 128 patients who developed erectile dysfunction after radiotherapy and 102 who did not, researchers confirmed that 12 SNPs were associated with erectile dysfunction.
"Thankfully, current treatments for prostate cancer offer excellent rates of long-term survival, so patients and their physicians have a choice about which treatment path to take," said Barry Rosenstein, PhD, Professor of Radiation Oncology, Mount Sinai School of Medicine. "However, the risk of developing erectile dysfunction after radiation treatment is highly variable, suggesting there may be a genetic component to determining that risk. Our study confirms that specific markers make certain patients more susceptible to this side effect."
Patients in the study cohort were given one of three treatments: internal radiotherapy, known as brachytherapy; brachytherapy plus external beam radiation; or external beam radiation alone. They were followed for an average length of nearly four years to determine level of sexual function after treatment.
Interestingly, the 12 SNPs identified in this study were located near genes that seem to be related to erectile function rather than related to radiation response. The researchers conclude that these SNPs may affect genes that sensitize a patient to developing erectile dysfunction when exposed to radiation during therapy.
"Prostate cancer screening and treatment are undergoing major shifts," said Harry Ostrer, MD, Professor of Pathology and Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Director of Genetic and Genomic Testing at Montefiore Medical Center and co-principal investigator of the study. "This is part of our ongoing effort to identify men at highest risk for disease, identify the aggressive tumors that would be responsive to therapy, and to improve quality of life for men with indolent prostate cancers who might benefit from active surveillance, rather than therapy."
The authors indicate that examination of a large, independent cohort of similarly treated patients will be necessary to definitively determine which SNPs to include as part of a clinically useful predictive test to identify which men are at greatest risk for developing erectile dysfunction following prostate cancer radiotherapy. The researchers are also evaluating the impact of radiation treatment on urinary complications and proctitis, the inflammation of the rectum.

More grandparents are using equity release to help their family. Yet, is it really that sensible to release money from your home when it can be such an important safety net?
Stories of young people borrowing from ?the bank of mum and dad? aren?t new. But a report by equity release specialist Key Retirement Solutions has highlighted a new trend: young people borrowing from their grandparents, who have released equity in their homes to do so.
Equity release is a way of freeing up the money in your home without having to move.
Last year, 23% of retired homeowners who took out an equity release plan said lending to their loved ones was their motivation. And in the first six months of this year that rose to 31%. Total lending also increased from ?385.7m to ?446.2m.
Before the recession, the most common reason retired homeowners gave for using equity release was renovating their property, followed by going on holiday. Although home improvements remain the most popular reason (58%), now more homeowners are citing grandchildren?s university fees or helping their children get on the housing ladder.
For many UK retirees, their home is their largest asset ? so making practical use of it makes good financial sense. But it?s worth ensuring that your own financial future is secure before lending a slice of it to your family.
Even those who feel they have a comfortable pension may still find themselves needing to pay for care bills in later life ? which can run to ?50k a year and beyond.
For those who regard their home as a financial backstop, it may make better financial sense to gift it on to their children once they die, rather than removing the safety net before knowing whether they?ll need it.
Given the high charges, high interest rates and inflexible nature of most of the products on the market, equity release is best kept as a last resort. Is it one you?d take advantage of?

Getty ImagesWith the Eagles at 2-1 but feeling like a team that can?t get out of its way, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said Thursday that he hopes quarterback Mike Vick will do more to stay out of the way of defensive players.
?Maybe he needs to move,? Mornhinweg told the media.? ?About half of the time the quarterback needs to move.? It might be subtle or a slide.? It might be up and out, in a full scramble, front door or back door ? all these type of movements.?
Vick seemed to reach a new level two years ago because he was moving less.? Patient in the pocket, Vick waited for opportunities to develop.? This year, it seems like he?s simply waiting to get blasted by a blitzing linebacker.
The hits Vick has taken, coupled with his alarming turnover rate, has prompted calls for the team to spend more time running the ball, especially with LeSean McCoy on the roster.? Mornhinweg doesn?t sound sold on that approach.
?We go after people now,? Mornhinweg said regarding the possibility of making the running game a priority.? ?Look, I tell the players that we?re going to be aggressive.? Again, you can be aggressive in the running game or the pass, but we?re going to be aggressive.? I want them to be aggressive and want them to play without the fear of making a mistake. If you make a mistake, you find the solution and then you correct it fast.? Once you get that thing motoring pretty good, and I think we are closer than it appears, then you?re in pretty good shape both run and pass.
?Normally, many of your runs come in the second half, whether you are close, you are even, or you are up, and with us most of the time.? Not all of the time, but most of time.? Philosophically, I don?t care as much about balance in any particular game.? If we have to run the ball 50 times to win the game, that?s what we?ll do.? If we need to pass the ball 50 times in any particular game, that?s what we?ll do.? Now, you take the whole season and you?d rather be somewhere around 60-40ish, usually a little higher than 60ish maybe 60-65 percent pass.?
It sounds good in theory, but every pass play lately has had Eagles fans holding their breath for the next hit on Mike Vick.? Sooner or later, he?ll absorb a hit that keeps him from continuing.

What are the different recreational vehicles that people use? Here are the most common ones:
a. All-terrain vehicles
b. Boat?
c. Fifth Wheel Motor homes?
d. Snow mobiles
e. Personal Watercraft?
The answer to the question of whether to insure smaller RVs is a sure yes. Off-road vehicles should also come with insurance as you can be involved in accidents while on them. The insurance will protect your expensive dirt bikes, four wheeled all-terrain vehicles and dune buggies. In fact, even golf carts should be insured too. There are small communities that get to one place to another on golf cars. Well, probably, the homeowner?s policy won?t include coverage for any medical expenses as a result of accidents on your off-road vehicle.?
Because of this, you need a special insurance for your recreational vehicle. Here are reasons why such coverage for RV?s should be added to your home insurance.?a. The standard auto insurance does not cover expensive things you take on the road with you. As such, TVs, laptops, camcorders and other valuable personal items won?t be protected from theft or damage because they are not in ?residence premises?.?
b. For instance you take your RV camping. If somebody gets injured or another person?s property gets damaged in the area around your vehicle, you will be held liable for the injury or the damage.?
c. Lastly, your RV won?t be covered in case of damage while plying the route.?
What are the different recreational vehicle coverage options? Coverage includes the following:
a. Physical Injury and Property Damage liability (BI/PD)?This covers accidents where injury to a person or damage to property is involved. If you are liable for the accident, your insurance will pay for the following:
a. replacement or repair to the property
b. medical bills to an injured party
c. lost wage or income of the injured party
b. Uninsured or underinsured motorist (UUM) ? the injured person may not possess any insurance or his insurance does not cover enough. This insurance will pay for injuries incurred by a motorist if you are held liable for the accident. ?
c. Medical and other Health Miscellaneous Payments ? this is helpful if persons inside the car or van are injured or property is damaged inside it.
d. Roadside Assistance (RA)? RA coverage pays for towing and labor costs
You must know that low cost auto insurance for Philadelphia homeowners does not offer enough coverage for incidents involving your RV. Because of this, you should find the best insurance brokerage in the Delaware Valley to end up with proper coverage for your fifth wheel and off-road vehicles. ?To help you decide whether you have the right brokerage, you have to ask an auto insurance specialist in Philadelphia to tell you the full extent of the coverage. You really have to do this because not all insurance brokers in Bucks County are the same. ?

WASHINGTON (AP) ? NASA's future plans to explore Mars may end up using astronauts as space messengers.
The new idea surfaced as a special team looking for a new Mars robotic exploration plan released a preliminary report Tuesday.
One of the option calls for a Martian robotic rover to collect rocks on the red planet. Later, astronauts in a newly built spaceship would be used to pick them up from a cosmic delivery point somewhere between Earth and Mars and return them home.
The report gives the space agency several options with no specific timing for future missions and no decision is expected until next year. The new plan is needed because budget cuts earlier this year killed two future robotic flights.
The space agency has so far explored Mars with orbiters and robots, like the rover Curiosity that landed last month. The ultimate goal has been to get a robot to collect rocks and Martian soil to send to Earth for more detailed scientific examination.
Separately, NASA is working on new missions for astronauts to explore away from Earth, with an ultimate goal of sending them to Mars sometime in the 2030s.
The NASA team proposed combining both dreams, getting astronauts involved in Martian exploration earlier. But they wouldn't exactly go to Mars itself. The astronauts would go somewhere between Mars and Earth and pick up the rocks left by a spacecraft that carried them off Mars.
That plan takes advantage of the new rocket and spaceship system for astronauts that should be ready in the next decade, said NASA associate administrator for sciences John Grunsfeld.
It also would lessen contamination worries about the Martian rocks. Scientists want to make sure that the Martian samples could not bring alien germs to Earth and that Earth organisms don't contaminate the Martian sample, Grunsfeld said.
And it would help the mission to land humans on Mars because it "looks a lot like sending a crew to Mars and returning them safely," Grunsfeld said.
The planning team looked at a few options for a Mars sample return mission:
?Send a bunch of spacecraft to Mars ? a rover, a launcher to return home, an orbiter ? in several launches.
?Package all those spacecraft into one or two launches that would save money but increase risk of failure.
?Send a bunch of small rovers to look around different spots of Mars to find the best samples and then design a system to collect and return those rocks.
Before that can happen, NASA still has to decide what robotic or orbiter mission it wants to send to Mars in 2018, if any. It's a time when Earth and the red planet will be close and save money on fuel costs. Grunsfeld said NASA only has about $800 million budgeted for that, which is not enough for a major rover.

It has taken Samsung a wee bit longer than expected, but the Korean outfit announced earlier that its intelligent, WiFi-equipped EX2F point-and-shoot is finally hitting US store shelves today. And while availability itself comes a few weeks behind schedule, it gave Samsung plenty of time to reconsider the initial $550 MSRP tag it gave when the camera was first unveiled, which means that $500 gets you in the "smart" shooter game with a 3-inch AMOLED display, 12.4-megapixel CMOS sensor and, of course, the lovely f/1.4-2.7 (24-79mm) lens. Still trying to figure out whether this is indeed the one for you? Then be sure to peruse over our own hands-on to help you decide if it's worthy of your hard-earned cash.

ScienceDaily (Sep. 24, 2012) ? Eat fish, but avoid fish with the most pollutants. This is the conclusion drawn by a group of researchers at Ume? University in Sweden after having weighed the risks of mercury content against the advantages of healthful fatty acids.
The work was done as part of an international collaborative effort.
Fish is healthful food, and several studies have shown that people who eat fish have a lower risk of cardiovascular diseases than those who eat very little or no fish. At the same time, some fish contain environmental pollutants that can be hazardous to our health. One such pollutant that is suspected of increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease is methyl mercury, which is found in varying degree in different kinds of fish. If people eat fish with much pollutants, this would lead to increased risk of disease, but at the same time if people are overly cautious and eat too little fish, the risk of disease also increases.
In order to attain a better understanding of what the golden mean might be, researchers at Ume? University, in collaboration with researchers from Finland and elsewhere, examined how the risk of heart attack (acute myocardial infarction) is contingent on the amount of omega-3 fats and mercury from fish that people have in their body. The content was measured in blood and hair samples from people that had previously participated in health studies in northern Sweden and eastern Finland. The Swedish blood samples were from the Medical Biobank in Ume?. Those who experienced a heart attack after the health check-up were compared with those who did not.
The findings are now being published in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (AJCN). It turned out that mercury was linked to increased risk, and omega-3 fatty acids to decreased risk, of having a heart attack. The increased risk from mercury was noticeable only at high levels of this environmental pollutant in the body and if the level of the protective omega-3 fatty acids was concomitantly low. In other words, what is important is the balance between healthful and hazardous substances in fish. The environmental pollutant in this study was mercury. For organic pollutants like PCB and dioxin, the problem complex is similar, but no study of this kind has yet been undertaken.
The conclusion is simple: Eat fish, but avoid fish with the most pollutants. The Swedish National Food Agency recommends that people should eat fish 2-3 times a week, but their intake of predatory fish (e.g. pike, perch, pike-perch), which contain a great deal of mercury, should be limited (see link below). This study supports that recommendation. According to a recent study from the National Food Agency, 7 of 10 Swedes eat too little fish.

Since the iPhone body has already been torn down, what's left to do but tear down it's brain -- the all new, all custom Apple A6 system-on-a-chip (SoC). And that's just exactly what iFixt and Chipworks have just done.
During the iPhone 5 teardown, we referenced the B8164B3PM label we found on the A6 processor, which denoted 1GB of Elpida LP DDR2 SDRAM. The die mark and photo (shown in the A6 teardown) confirmed the strong hunch that the A6's 1GB LP DDR2 SDRAM is provided by Elpida.
Generally speaking, logic blocks?such as those found in the A6?are automagically laid out with the use of advanced computer software. However, it looks like the ARM core blocks were laid out manually?as in, by hand. A manual layout will usually result in faster processing speeds, but it is much more expensive and time consuming.
The manual layout of the ARM processors lends much credence to the rumor that Apple designed a custom processor of the same caliber as the all-new Cortex-A15. It just might be the only manual layout in a chip to hit the market in several years.
Chipworks cracked open the Apple 338S1077 to confirm that it is, in fact, a Cirrus CS35L19 class-D audio amplifier?and not an audio codec as initially thought.
The Murata Wi-Fi SoC module is actually comprised of a Broadcom BCM4334 package in addition to an oscillator, capacitors, resistors, etc. You can see all the components in the X-ray: http://bit.ly/UNQv4v
The Broadcom BCM4334, fabricated in Taiwan at TSMC on a 40 nm CMOS process, features:
- Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n)
- Bluetooth 4.0 + HS
Manually laying out the chip is insane, but shows just how seriously Apple takes every bit and atom in the iPhone. To watch all the hot, ion-blasted, processor action, head on over to iFixit now.

Salvatore Cordileone, archbishop-elect of San Francisco, said in a recent interview that gay and lesbian Catholics in sexual relationships of any kind should not present themselves for the Sacrament of Holy Communion, the holiest sacrament of the Catholic church. The Los Angeles Times?reports:
. . .in a recent interview at the headquarters of the Oakland diocese, where he has served as bishop for three years, Cordileone was more direct: Gays and lesbians who are in sexual relationships of any kind, he said, should not receive the sacrament of Holy Communion, the central ritual of Catholic life.
?If we misuse the gift of sexuality, we?re going to suffer the consequences,? he said, ?and I firmly believe we are suffering the consequences.?
Cordileone, who was arrested last month on drunk driving charges, then elaborated, puzzlingly appearing to blame same-sex couples for the problem of absentee fathers in the inner city:
The prelate?s light-filled office overlooks Oakland?s Lake Merritt. Just beyond the graceful urban estuary, he said, are ?100 blocks of inner-city neighborhoods. Those are fatherless children.?
Archbishop-elect Cordileone was appointed in July by Pope Benedict XVI to head the San Francisco Archdiocese in a move widely seen as a thumb in the eye to the LGBT civil rights movement. He assumes the new position on October 4.

With Oakland's 5-4 win over the New York Yankees earlier Sunday, the Rangers were looking to avoid a sweep by the scuffling Mariners in order to keep their distance over the Athletics with a pivotal four-game series against them beginning in Texas on Monday.
Solo homers by Eric Thames and Brendan Ryan off Dempster (12-7) in the seventh inning were the only blemishes to a strong outing. Dempster went 6 2-3 innings allowing one walk while striking out eight. Joe Nathan earned his 35th save.
The Rangers were again without Josh Hamilton, who has missed the last five games with a sinus issue that's affected his vision. The Rangers had eight hits off Mariners starter Jason Vargas (14-11).
Texas left runners in scoring position in the second and third innings before finally breaking through in the fourth. A solo home run from Napoli gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead. After a walk to David Murphy, Soto followed with a 2-run blast into the Texas bullpen in left field.
Two-out singles in the fifth inning from Ryan and Michael Saunders gave Seattle its first runner in scoring position of the game. Franklin Gutierrez worked a full-count against Dempster but flied out to the warning track in left.
Gutierrez and Kyle Seager reached on singles off reliever Mike Adams to lead off the eighth. A chopper to the mound by John Jaso moved the runners to second and third with one out and the Rangers elected to intentionally walk Justin Smoak to load the bases. Adams struck out Thames and induced a lazy fly ball to center from Luis Jimenez to preserve the one-run lead.
Notes: Hamilton will rejoin the team when it returns to Texas on Monday. Manager Ron Washington said he still isn't sure when Hamilton will be able to return to the lineup. ... The Mariners are 1 for their last 40 with runners in scoring position. ... Texas earned its 90th win of the season for the third consecutive year and sixth time in franchise history. Texas has won the season series over Seattle five straight times and in eight of the last nine seasons. ... Seattle has homered in each of its last 13 games, a season high. ... Vargas has allowed 35 home runs this season.

The key?is "family budget is tight". Based on that if would appear that a 30 yr fixed would give you best benefit - lower payment and option to pay down principal at anytime. Rate is virtually the same for 30 and 20 yr loan, but payment is about 10% more monthly for a 20 yr.
You have done a good job with your finances, and if you plan on owning the property for 4 yrs or more it would be an excellent time to improve your position. I don't know the savings since?loan?balance was not?mentioned ?but likely to be well worthwhile as you would be?lowering your rate significantly.

The preview features the reappearances of several ?Lord of the Rings? characters, including wise wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan), elves Elrond (Hugo Weaving) and Galadriel (Cate Blanchett), and Gollum (Andy Serkis), whom Bilbo encounters and must engage in a battle of riddles.
The character of Thorin (Richard Armitage), the leader of the company of dwarves which Bilbo joins in an attempt to take back the dwarves? home from the dragon Smaug, also makes several appearances.
The trailer begins with Gandalf explaining the dwarves? quest, after which the dwarves show up at Bilbo (Martin Freeman)?s home.
?I like visitors as much as the next hobbit, but I do like to know them before they come,? Bilbo complains. But soon after, he?s seen running through Hobbiton, clutching a map.
?I?m going on an adventure!? he hollers.
Gandalf also explains to Galadriel, co-ruler of Lothl?rien, why he chose Bilbo for the quest.
?Perhaps it is because I am afraid and he gives me courage,? he says.
A character who appears to be the wizard Radagast the Brown (Sylvester McCoy) states that ?a dark power has found its way back into the world,? perhaps referring to the ring that jumpstarts the plot of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
The character of Gollum is seen entering into the battle of riddles with Bilbo, discussing the terms of the game.
?If Bagginses loses, then we eats it whole,? he informs Bilbo, with a head tilt suggesting this is a perfectly fair deal.
Various battle and adventure scenes are also shown, including wargs (wolf-like creatures) attacking, the dwarves and the trolls which the party encounters around a campfire as well as the dwarves braving a rockslide.
?The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,? the first movie in a planned trilogy, is scheduled for a Dec. 14 release. The films? director Peter Jackson originally stated that the book would be adapted into two films, but recently announced that a third movie will be released in 2014, with the second installment coming in 2013.

One of the most important sources for college loans is the government. These are called Stafford loans. There are 2 types, direct and FFEL. These differ in a number of respects and have the same acceptability requirements. The significant differences are how the loans are paid back and the wants.
The direct college loan programme receives its funds from the federal government. The FFEL uses non-public banks such as banks and credit unions for funding. Not all non-public lenders take part in the FFEL programme. The repayment options also depend on which establishment is employed and their particular requirements. There are 2 sorts of loans, bankrolled, and unsubsidized.
A financed loan is founded on fiscal need. The federal government subsidizes the interest on these loans. This interest doesn't get applied during the period prior to repayment or during authorized repayment periods.
An unsubsidized loan is available to just about anybody. These loans have the interest start to accumulate from the instant the loan is allowed until the loan is paid completely. Additionally these loans can be capitalized. This means that the interest will be added to the principle and the interest will then be applied to this higher amount. To keep this at an effective minimum, it is advised that perhaps the interest be paid as it accumulates.
The amount of money available is reliant upon whether or not you are a full time or half time student. No Stafford loans are available to scholars who are enrolled for rather less than one 3rd of an academic year. Your financial help dept will help in figuring out the amount of money available. Both the direct and FFEL loans are as well as other monetary sources such as grants and scholarship awards. Because these are interest-accumulating loans it is better to consider any available grants, gifts or financial scholarships first and then base the loan on the remaining balance.
Joe Wilson has worked in the loan industry for over two decades. Let him share with you his years of experience with payday loans, auto loans, student loans and the new peer to peer loans.

ReutersFollowing Monday?s three-hour marathon meeting between Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma and Commissioner Roger Goodell, someone leaked to the media an affidavit signed by former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, which states that Vilma offered $10,000 to anyone who knocked former Vikings quarterback Brett Favre out of the 2009 NFC title game.
At that?s precisely what it says, at paragraph No. 12 on pages 5 to 6 of the document.? (It?s technically a ?declaration,? not an affidavit.? Both are signed under penalty of perjury, but unlike an affidavit a declaration isn?t notarized.)
Its timing raises many fair questions, even if the NFL would prefer that the questions not be asked.? Amazingly, Williams signed the document three days ago, on September 14, 2012.
So here are the questions and issues that Vilma?s lawyer, Peter Ginsberg, likely will be preparing to ask and/or raise.
How did this declaration come to be?
Williams, whom the league previously identified as someone who corroborated the offer, presumably hadn?t previously reduced his words to writing.? Why didn?t he?
Who wrote the declaration?
The declaration consists of a clean, crisp, logical narrative ? the kind of document lawyers routinely write.? So who wrote it?? Williams? lawyer, based on a meeting with Williams?? Or the NFL?s lawyers, based on whatever Williams told the league (or, possibly, the league?s interpretation thereof)?
Why was it written now?
The September 7 ruling of an internal appeals board vacated the suspensions of Vilma and three other players on technical grounds.? The decision gave the league a do-over, and the decision to harvest a declaration from Williams three days before the meeting with Vilma proves that the NFL opted to embrace its mandated Mulligan.
What promises were made to Williams, expressly or implicitly?
It?s fair to ask whether and to what extent Williams has received anything in return for his cooperation.? Did the league hint that he?ll be more likely to be reinstated if he signs the declaration?
Will Williams testify at the internal appeal hearing?
Assuming the NFL once again suspends Vilma, an internal appeals hearing will be conducted.? And it will be impossible to properly probe the nooks and crannies of the Williams declaration unless Williams testifies.? So Williams surely will have to testify, and he will have to be exposed to cross examination.? Otherwise, the declaration will be worthless.
What other declarations have been obtained?
The league possibly didn?t stop with a declaration from Williams.? The league possibly has revisited the question of whether its previously undisclosed whistleblower (widely believed to be former Saints assistant coach Mike Cerullo) should be ?outed? as a witness, given that the undisclosed whistleblower presumably has also corroborated the Vilma offer.
Will Williams ever coach again?
Apart from the cartoonish remarks from Williams prior to the January 2012 playoff game against the 49ers, Williams? execution of a declaration will make it difficult if not impossible for any NFL player to ever respect, listen to, or follow Williams.? Thus, even if the NFL reinstates him after the 2012 season, it will be difficult for the Rams or any other NFL team to employ him as a coach.? At best, Williams will be relegated to the status of consultant, perhaps helping his son, Blake, with game plans and other strategic matters.
What happens next?
Commissioner Roger Goodell will issue a decision regarding the suspensions, and the decision will be appealed, to Goodell.? His final decision will surely be challenged in court, before Judge Helen G. Berrigan.
Will the declaration hold up in court?
That?s perhaps the best question of all.? Vilma?s lawyer undoubtedly will argue that the league should have created and shared the Williams declaration months ago, and that any effort to cobble something together now is inherently suspect and procedurally defective.
In hindsight, Vilma?s lawyer should have declined to meet with Goodell, taking instead the position that the official record of evidence is closed, and that Goodell must merely make a new decision clarifying whether he was issuing the suspensions for conduct detrimental to the game (which he has the sole authority to do under the labor deal), or whether he was punishing the players for salary-cap violations (which he does not have the authority to do).
What should the other players do?
Saints defensive end Will Smith, Browns linebacker Scott Fujita, and free-agent defensive end Anthony Hargrove are due to meet with Goodell on Tuesday.? They should consider refusing to meet, taking the position that the NFL is stuck with the evidence that already has been produced (or not produced), and that Goodell should simply reissue the decisions.
We?ll find out soon enough whether that happens.? For now, though, it?s clear to us that the Williams declaration would have been far more valuable and relevant if it had been written and signed back in February or March.? Though there would still be questions, there wouldn?t be as many ? and they wouldn?t be as compelling.
